It’s snowing out today! That means fur collar, cashmere scarf, chevron tights and to top it all off a bright salmon puffy sleeved coat that i just impulsed on at Target….it’s the time of the year for winter fashion!
This weekend, why not fill your closet for a good cause, Compassion from Fashion at Beachwood Place on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 5-9pm. This year is going to be bigger than ever as we they are working to raise money for two great Northeast Ohio non-profits, The Gathering Place and University Hospitals (UH) Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital.
Just like years past, ticket-holders to the event will enjoy yummy treats and a cash bar courtesy of Maggiano’s Little Italy, many retailer discounts throughout the night and of course, a live fashion show featuring cancer survivors, children and families from UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospitals, professional models and local celebrities, including: Stefani Schaefer and Maureen Kyle to name just two!
Tickets can be purchased now at CompassionFromFashion.com for $25 or at the door the night of the event for $30. But I have a pair of tickets to giveaway to one lucky winner! Tweet me “@iheartclev that you would like to win these tickets for #compassionforfashion on Saturday” Winner will be drawn randomly Friday by noon!
Morning Cleveland. A cute rain coat, some sassy wellies and perhaps a bubble-like umbrella should make this weeks forecast of rain, rain, and more rain a tiny bit more fabulous.
Again, another great week in our dear city, including this Thursday’s 16th Annual Market Under Glass event. Filled with unlimited food and drink, this event is the largest fundraiser for Harvest for Hunger.
I went last year (I passed out adorable apps made by Three Birds) and the fundraiser was more fun than I could have ever imagined. Tons of people, great food, decadent desserts…it was over the top amazing. Everyone should get their ticket and meet me there this year!
Speaking of tickets, I have a pair to give one lucky winner (tomorrow…TUESDAY) valued at $170 for the pair. To win, leave me your name and email, winner will be drawn at random.

The Civic Commons is a new way to bring communities together through conversation and emerging technology. They are focused on building conversations and connections that have the power to become an informed productive collective civic action.
During this public introduction of this organization, the Civic Commons is holding a poster contest. Let me just say, as a fellow designer there are a LOT of AMAZING designs to choose from. Take a look and vote for your favorites today!
With the onset of fall comes the arrival of fall not for profit “charity-fundraising season.” Post-summer vacations and pre-holiday season, this is the perfect time to scrape your extra change together and give back to the numerous not for profit organizations in the community.
