  Wade Oval Wednesday

Morning Cleveland and happy Tuesday to you! I am back in the 216 after a few days of hanging out in Big Bear, California. What an experience! 120 fellow creative campers, bonfires, smores, speakers, bunkbeds, camp dance, red wood pines, lots of smilebooth and tons of new (instagram) friends! I will share some pictures in the next few days…but for now as I get back to business check out this ADORABLE commercial for the summer sensation, Wade Oval Wednesdays. A wonderful creative representation of the weekly fun happening over at University Circle, Wednesday nights through end of August. Check it out.

Morning CLE, have you had a nice short week? So far so good here. Have you had a chance to enter the not one, but TWO giveaways this week? If not take a look at the last few posts and enter to win a $100 gift certificate to Provenance and/or a season pass to Yoga in the Park!

Also, I just heard from the gang over at the Cleveland Museum of Art and I can barely contain my excitement by telling you there are ONLY 250 tickets left for the almost sold out Summer Solstice PARTY! So, if you have any inkling to attend the party of the summer, get our tickets TODAY!

For those of us who already  bought our tickets, the next big decisions is WHAT TO WEAR? In the past few years I’ve noticed a great blend of attendees in very formal dresses to the younger crowd in cooler summer casual wear. Myself I love a good maxi dress, something that I can wear summer flats with…I don’t want my heals to get suck in the grass while dancing the night away. MORE! →

giveaway : Provenance at the Art Museum

Hello & Happy “Monday!” How was your (chilly) Memorial Day 2013? All good here, two big picnics, going out to dinner & a “mini-bar” with friends, lots of putting together IKEA furniture, hours of planting perrenials, 72 homemade bacon deviled eggs and a bit of relaxing…all in all a good holiday weekend.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to have a great girls-evening-out at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s latest installation, Provenance. A friend of mine and I made a reservation for a Wednesday evening, had a few glasses of bubbly pre, pre-fixed dinner and finished it up with a sweet dessert and glass of red wine. Plus, we enjoyed wandering through the coolest Gallery One.

Chef Douglas Katz did not dissappoint, from the yummy sweet bread and butter, to my fish and chips to the carrot cake muffin and carmelized walnuts this dinner was anything but low fat…however worth every calorie, I can’t say enough about the chic, clean lines of the interior, the wonderful evening light the makes the dining area glow and the terrific service.

Want to check it our yourselves? I have a generous $100 gift certificate available to a lucky reader. Either leave me a comment OR tweet me “I would HEART $100 for Provenance at @ClevelandArt from @iheartclev” (Winner to be announced by Monday, June 3rd) Enter daily, the more entires, the better your odds!

  Our vibrant hometown!

Morning & happy Monday everybody. Hope you had a great weekend and are gearing up for the ultimate summer kick off, Memorial Day weekend. Let the countdown begin!

I was out of town over the weekend in our sister city of Detroit. Wow, there are some CRAZY drivers up their in MI…but the fact that they have a new IKEA makes it very attractive for a weekend visit. Usually we visit the Pittsburgh location, but due to a family event we stopped into that one and let me just say SO MUCH BETTER! Newer store, furniture-pick-up all in one place, more product stock and overall lighter and brighter. Highly recommend.

Now, onto today’s quick post…did you see the new Sherwin Williams billboard on the side of their Prospect Ave headquarters? A partnership between area ad agency Adcom and artists GV Art + Design this vibrant mural represents all of our city’s prominent landmarks. It is a great visual celebration of our city, THANKS SW for investing in our city, we are lucky to have you as a strong Cleveland business.

The new banner features the following landmarks and icons…

• Terminal Tower
• Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum
• Quicken Loans Arena
• Main Avenue Bridge
• Progressive Field
• Fountain of Eternal Life, also known as the War Memorial Fountain
• West Side Market
• Cleveland Harbor West Pierhead Lighthouse
• Goodtime III
• Global Center for Health and Innovation
• FirstEnergy Stadium, Home of the Cleveland Browns
• Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Bridge #463
• Key Tower
• Guardians of Traffic on the Hope Memorial Bridge
• Wind Turbine
• Veterans Memorial Bridge, also known as the Detroit Superior Bridge
• Lolly the Trolley

Have a great Monday everyone, looking forward to a hot holiday countdown week!

Yesterday I was driving down Superior probably around the 40′s somewhere and I spotted this incredible wall mural.
