  The Movement Factory

It’s Thursday workout day here at iheartclev. I’ve packed my clothes and am headed to the gym after work to jump on the cycle bike and rock out with some other fabulous CLE ladies; can’t wait!

Today I want to introduce you to a little gem of a fitness studio that just opened in Lakewood. The Movement Factory was founded by dancer, pilates instructor and fitness guru Alyssa Lee Wilmot. While she is small in stature Alyssa can kick your butt…hard (speaking from experience.) The studio is clean and bright with large windows to letting lots of natural light. During my booty boot camp class, I really enjoyed the ballet barre part of class over looking Lakewood’s’ Madison Park a nice view while your calves burn to death. Alyssa has all new shiny equipment, awesome taste in tunes and is overall an inspiration to all of us. Get healthy, have fun and inspire others! MORE! →

Day 3 : Inner Bliss Yoga

Hello & Namaste Cleveland.
Another fun day of giveaways here at iheartcleveland!

During the holidays is it hard to make time for “you?” Does your workout, your alone time, meditation and spiritual needs, do they all fall to the side in place of holiday hustle and bustle?

Have you ever tried Yoga? A state of wonderful deep stretching and strength training paired with meditative deep cleansing breathe partnered with a state of peace and well being?

I’ve been practicing for almost ten years and still a beginner I can’t stress enough how yoga brings me joy, keeps me grounded, makes me stronger, brings me peace and stretches every muscle in my body. Sounds good right?

For Day 3 in the 12 Days of Giveaways, Rocky River studio, Inner Bliss Yoga is offering 5 class passes ($60 value) to one VERY lucky reader. This offer is the perfect opportunity to try yoga, to come back to yoga (“return to your breathe”) or perfect your crow, eagle or tree pose.

At Inner Bliss they offer many types of classes, from child and very beginner to powerflow and hot experiences. Their kind welcoming teachers create an environment of acceptance,  vibe of joy and lots of fun. Their studio (located on the second floor at 19537 Lake Road) invites light and warmth into your daily practice. During these chilly Ohio days stepping into the IB studio warms not only your body, but your soul. Check it out!

“Like” Inner Bliss on Facebook and tell us about your thoughts or experience with yoga. (What do you like? Why are you hesitant? What holds you back? What drives you for more?) and enter to win today!

Please include your email, winner will be drawn on Tuesday December 13th. I can’t wait to read your comments on this one.

p.s. my favorite pose? Happy baby for sure! :)

  Free Yoga!

With all the hustle and bustle in the month of December, seems to me that more downward dog and tree pose would make the holiday “grouchies” subside.

Have you tried Pranayama breathing, otherwise referred to Darth Vader breathing? Wouldn’t you like an excuse to purchase a pair of pricey booty pants? When that crazy shopper cuts you off in line, turn into yourself and meditate how crazy people can be and how at peace you are…okay, that’s a stretch.

Why wait until January to start your peaceful, strengthening, soul opening yoga practice? Join Inner Bliss Yoga in Rocky River THIS SATURDAY, December 4th for a day of complimentary yoga classes.

I plan to try and attend owner, Tammy Lyons, Hot Powerful Flow Class at 10am and then perhaps try a new teacher too! I know a lot of my friends enjoy Robert Moreno (challenging flow, not for the faint of yoga hearts) and Ginny Walters (wonderful with beginners), the studio is filled with talented instructors.

They are hosting this free day of classes as a way of saying THANKS to their students, to the community and to make area yogis aware of their awesome community.

Check out their site for a list of classes. They are a first come first serve, no sign up for the day. Plan to get close with your neighbor, pretend you are at a studio in LA or NYC where packing in 100+ yogi’s is not unheard of. Wear comfy clothes, NO perfume, no socks and plan to arrive 15-20min early to get a spot.

See you there!

  Friday fun!

Hello Friday! Oh how I’ve missed you since last Friday. :) It’s been too too long.

I have so many things on this weekends schedule and can’t wait to share some of my ideas with each of you! I think the onset of cooler temps and back to school has made me yearn to switch over my closet from bright & cheery summer to warm & cozy fall…but as all Clevelanders know….we MUST resist until at least mid-September. So while I wait….how about what is fun going on in our fearless city this weekend?

> Feel like taking a drive? In love with Max and the rest of the Where the Wild Things cast? Drive to downtown Kent as they show the movie on an outdoor screen…starts at dusk, should be fun for all! FREE

> There are LOTS of bike rides this weekend. Feel like hanging with a bunch of graphic designers? Head to the towpath this Saturday for AIGA’s ride. Feel like filling your belly with warm grilled cheese? Don’t miss out on Melt’s first fundraising ride this Sunday. If farms & barns are your thing visit the picturesque Cuyahoga Valley National Park this Sunday!

> I saw the first slightly disturbing movie, The Girl with the Dragon tattoo…but sorta like a car wreck where you can’t look away, I am very intrigued to see the second part film in the three part series. The Girl Who Played With Fire, showing at Cedar Lee.

> Get your last few wears of those summer sundresses, and if you are looking for a few extra summer something’s, stop by Room Service for their 60% off summer apparel sale!

On a side note, I can’t tell you how much I LOVE living in Lakewood and would like to thank Travel + Leisure Magazine for the HUGE shout out! “Lakewood : Coolest Suburb Worth a Visit!

And last…for those of you that do find yourself at the mall this weekend stocking up on back to school clothes…pick up this short for yourself. EVERYONE in Cleveland should have one. In fact I think that as a tax payer, we should just get one free in our mail some evening, now wouldn’t that be amazing? If you can’t wait for GAP to maybe send you one as a good Cleveland citizen…then make sure to pick yours up soon. I hear they are flying off the shelves…. Love yOUR city!!!
