  Good “Crust”

Hey guys, happy mid week. Are you already jonesing for weekend plans? I am looking forward to a bit of downtime and Saturday can’t come soon enough. All good stuff, but do you ever have those weekdays when every night has a meeting, an event or something planned…the next few days look like that for me.

Anyhow, enough about me…let me tell you about Tremont’s newest pizza-by-the-slice hot spot, Crust.  Located on Kenilworth Ave in Tremont, these guys make a mean slice.

I stopped in there the other day for a sandwich to-go and ended up admiring the extra long slices on the counter. Once the guy behind the counter caught my pizza glance he noted that any topping could be added to their basic cheese base…and from their my mushroom and arugula slice drizzled with balsamic was born. (Note how large one slice was, enough to fit on two paper plates and this one had to be eaten with a fork and a knife, it was like a salad and a slice in one!)

Check out Crust, the pizza was great, the service was friendly and they were open during the day, which is a plus for small pizza places in Tremont!

  Feast (08/13-15)

This weekend…it’s FEAST-TIME!!!


Time to put on your italian horn necklace…splash on your extra thick cologne…tie on your pasta eating bib and head up to Murray Hill for this weekends “Feast of the Assumption.”


The four-day Feast of the Assumption is a wonderful mix of religion and secular fun. The entire length of Mayfield Road, between Euclid Avenue and Cleveland Heights is closed off to traffic. In their place are carnival rides, delicious Italian food vendors (and a random other few,) arts and crafts booths, and live music stages, playing everything from classic rock to “It’s Amore.”

On your mark…get ready…go! Runners throughout greater Cleveland will be pleased to know that this weekend marks the annual Ohio City Run & Crawl, an evening 5K run through the streets of Cleveland’s historic Ohio City neighborhood followed by a pub and restaurant crawl featuring dozens of local establishments.


Hundreds of runners are expected this year to fill the Ohio City streets and take in the sights, sounds and suds of the neighborhood. PLUS, after you run 3.25 miles, you will have no problem downing those fries and sunnyside up pizza!

  "FREE" Pizza! (10/09)

Who couldn’t use a midweek escape? Here’s your chance. Thursday from 4:30pm to 2am, Bar Cento is giving away one of its “traditional” pizzas – “free” – with the purchase of a bottle of house wine or a carafe of beer. It’s chef Jonathon Sawyer’s way of telling customers “thanks” for their restaurant’s first year in business.

I have to say, it is my ultimate favorite place to spend the evening with good friends, nestled up at the bar…a traditional pizza, sometimes an order of warm olives and a bottle of their house red, nothing could be more perfect!
