Happy Friday CLE! This week has been hot and humid but filled with history, of hard work and as always lots of fun and adventures.
For the past four years I have had the honor and privilege of a summer, mid-week escape (AKA vacation half day) to “yard sale” with two of my dearest friends. Each summer we escape working and motherhood for just a few hours to explore our neighborhoods, to catch up on life and most importantly to fill our homes with new unique finds…it is yard sale-ing season!
We get the local newspapers the night before, we print out ads from Craigs List, we employ the GPS and fill our mugs with hot coffee. Sleeping the night before is patchy, tossing and turning at the thought of the perfect find, the ultimate score, it’s like yard sale day is almost like Christmas, only better.
Today, I’d love to share with you MY ultimate find from this years outing…a calendar from 1980 of illustrations done by the talented Cleveland artist, Viktor Schreckengost featuring 12 illustrations of places in Cleveland all in full color at and oversized 16 inches by 12 inches, ready for framing…the kicker…the calendar is signed! The better kicker…it was $1.
Happy weekend Cleveland. Happy finds to those of us ready to scour the city for treasures. Happy me for my house has a plethora of new Cleveland illustrations to be hung!
