Hey CLE, happy tricks and treats week! Did you get to dress up this past weekend and get your costume party on? I saw so many of you dressed up on Instagram and facebook and I have to say, GREAT JOB!
Today I am going to share my third Land of Nod post-partnership. I have had the pleasure to work with Land of Nod on my little home blog nook as well as last months man-child birthday celebration it just goes to show Land of Nod offers more than just kids things. This past weekend I was starting to prep our home for hosting Thanksgiving and it was time to get our kitchen organized to make entertaining easy. Plus it just needed some attention.
To make our built in storage solution I turned to Land of Nod, some good old elbow grease, satin grey & white paint and contact paper to clean up our large built in cabinet for the upcoming holiday season.
Good morning CLE! How are you doing today? Did you know this week is our Cleveland Beer Week? So many great beer enthusiast events and brew specials around town. To find out where to go, and what to drink check out their site and the schedule at clevelandbeerweek.org.
I have a funny story for you today. I was shopping at Heinens’s this past Sunday and it was a mob scene. It was a shopping day filled with shoppers pre-work week, pre-Browns game and it was post-church and overall, seriously filled with everyone from around town. Let’s just say almost EVERY CART was in play. Anyhow, in the spirit of Sunday football AND Cleveland Beer Week I thought I would pick up two specialty “BEERS” to have and share during the “football game watching soirée” at our house…turns out I was in for a surprise.
I picked up one “Bob’s White” and one “Bob’s Red.” As a regular wine drinker one would think the red and white labeling would have triggered “this is WINE” to me…but instead the actual bottle made me think it MUST be beer. So I threw this new Heinen’s WINE into the fridge, yes…even the RED!
When our friends arrived, I opened the white first and was pleasantly surprised that is actually WAS WINE! Even after I popped off the beer cap with my key chain bottle opener I commented about how I think this might be the BEST wine for summer picnics and possibly for family holidays…drink one whole bottle of “Bob’s Your Uncle” and then you are officially cut off! :)
While I had to wait for the red wine to come up to room temp (I mean who likes red wine cold? grrrr?) it was just as good; if not better than the white wine. Plus, like I said before it was fun to open the bottle with a beer bottle opener rather than a cork screw.
So while it may LOOK like beer, don’t be fooled. Bob’s Your Uncle from Heinen’s is without a doubt a bottle of wine. So even though I tried to participate in Cleveland Beer Week by purchasing these adorable little mid-sized bottles of beer… they ARE actually wine and actually very good. I hope I have cleared up any confusion you may have had…they really are lovely! Happy Wednesday everyone.
Hello and happy hearts day Cleveland. Hope you are enjoying today’s flurries mixed with your best pink and red fashions. I personally think today is in the top three of all holidays with a close first and second being Christmas & Halloween. This morning when I went to the gym, the woman welcome me with those fun googly heart headbands…you know the ones on springs? Its a holiday to be silly to be sassy or to just be sappy. There are many “faces of Valentines” for sure.
Have you sent your bestie a card? Your little sister? Or perhaps your sweetie, I know just where you can find some great online ecards…head on over to my favorite fashionista’s blog…Miss Kate Spade. She has a variety of designs perfect for any special person in your life. Take a look and send away. (I heart the “Let’s make out” design!)
With this said, for those of you who follow me on twitter (@iheartclev) you know I am usually a sleepy tweeter, not saying all too much. However you may have noticed my as of late tweets to “Kate.”
This season the creative and PR team over at the retro inspired fashion house is taking a bus tour, filled with a real pop up boutique inspired by rocker Florence Broadhurst, and Cleveland MUST get their attention so they will stop here. Don’t you think it would be awesome if the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame could twist their arm to park in front of the Museum for all of us to come and shop? Not only would it be a great photo opp, but we Clevelanders HEART Kate and would for sure love us some floral Tretorns. They should totally come for the upcoming Rock Hall inductions don’t you think? If you agree, help me “move that bus” to Cleveland Ohio by tweeting @katespadeny welcoming them (in our best Midwest manners) to join us for the celebration! It would be SO SO FUN!
Enough of my soap box…I need to plan tonight’s sweetie dinner…must swing by Heinens to pick up some special dinner ingredients (bubbles & chocolate) on the way home.
Cheers & Love you Cleveland!
