A tale of two Springs!

Hello friends! How has your week been? We have been welcoming spring at our house by slowly pulling out the outside toys, bikes and lots of balls…let’s just say Toddler Ninja is in heaven.

While we are psyched for spring I’ve gotta say winter was kind to us. Not only did Cleveland have a mild winter (except for last weekend!,) but I was able to get out of town not once, but TWICE which made winter fly by. I feel really lucky.

The first trip out of town was with one of my best friends, a girls trip only, to celebrate our big birthday’s (50 & 40!) and we headed right to the mid-century mecca of Palm Springs, California. While we were in “PS” we stayed at The Parker designed by one of my personal favorite designers, Jonathan Adler. We ate awesome fish tacos, drank many cocktails, sipped french press by the pool and basked in the sun. We toured many a mid-century homes as part of the cities annual Modernism Week celebration. I still can’t get over the rich, bright blue skies, the tall palm trees everywhere, the cheerful brightly painted front doors and the overall laid back California vibes. Palm Springs is seriously one of the most happy places I have ever visited, if you ever get a chance to escape a Cleveland winter for a long weekend, I highly recommend the trip.

IMG_1232IMG_1205IMG_1150After arriving home and unpacking my suitcase it was time to trade my sundresses for ski gear as we were heading out to Steamboat Springs. For Christmas my parents reserved a condo, rentals and lift tickets for our family and my two sisters and brother in law. We just had to get ourselves there and from there we knew it would be a great family vacation. I’ve read multiple “traveling with toddlers” articles, and I followed every trick-of-the-trade to the tee…except none really covered projectile vomitting!!! Let’s just say the traveling part was not our best time. Once we arrived at the resort the week went a bit smoother…from hanging with family, to hitting the slopes, to making big family dinners and even bingo games complete with chic prizes! Steamboat Springs is a wonderful family resort with something for everyone. From sliding down the snowy hills enjoying his new snow pants to taking afternoon walks on small snowy trails with Pappa; Toddler Ninja enjoyed his time away. Our first family ski trip in the books…I think it was awesome and I know we will for sure do it again. Thanks Mom & Dad!

So there is my tiny story of a my two back to back travels…a tale of two springs! Both Palm Springs and Steamboat Springs while very different locations, nothing beats the feeling of getting away from the day to day to appreciate what we have here in Cleveland. While I love to travel I always LOVE coming home to the place that I love…friends, creative collaborations, fitness fun and our home.

I’ve seen many of you on social channels traveling over Easter and Spring break…where is everyone going next? Happy travels you guys…but get home safe & sound. Cleveland loves ya!
