Happy Friday everyone. Such a wonderful few summer days we’ve had yesterday and today, sunny and pretty but not overly steamy. Perfect for a lightweight, linen cardigan.

I am still planning the weekend agenda for my sister’s visit, we can’t wait till she gets here. While there will be lots of “Baby Ninja” time, we are going to make it a point to get out of the house and get social again. Looking forward to perhaps a cocktail or two as well…hip hip hooray!

I found a couple more fun weekend happenings around town that you might feel like hitting up, check them out.

Burning River Fest is this weekend at the historic Coast Guard Station (near Whiskey Island.) Since 2001, people from all over Northeast Ohio have gathered together to celebrate the river that was, the river that is and the future of our Great Lakes. It’s a celebration of our environment, music and beer…LOTS of beer…Great Lakes Brewing is a festival partner so there is no shortage of brews for the evening (Christmas Ale in July!) The festival runs from 6-11pm on the 25th & 26th, try and carpool or ride your bike, parking is always tight.

Another fun happening is Saturday evening at Sunset Grille (also on Whiskey Island) Carlos Jones is performing at 8pm. So grab a Red Stripe, wear your best tie dye and plan for an evening of summer Reggae tunes on the water.

Lastly, Saturday night is the second weekend of the Summer Movies Series on Playhouse Square at the US Bank Plaza featuring Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone! Movies are free to all and are projected onto a large 17×10 outdoor movie screen for all to enjoy. Bring your friends, blankets and chairs (coolers are a “no no”) and enjoy an evening downtown with friends.

I hope you have some wonderful weekend plans, it’s gonna be a great weekend to be in the CLE! Happy friday to ya.
