  Calligraphy Workshop, May 2nd

Hello friends. Was learning a new skill on your 2015 resolutions list? Well do I have a creative event to tell you about!

If you’ve always wanted to learn the fine art of calligraphy now is your chance. Calligraphy is a learned skill and requires a lot of patience and practice, but the end product is truly a work of art.

Next Saturday, May 2nd you have the opportunity to take a calligraphy workshop by Lindsey Buck of Hive Studio from Philadelphia. Lindsey’s stunning work has been featured in Anthropologie catalogs, UPPERCASE Magazine and blogs across the nation. She has taught many a workshop at Terrain; a very high-end nursery and garden lifestyle shop; (Terrain is cousin to Anthropologie & Urban Outfitters.)

The workshop will include a two-hour, hands-on course on workshop, a calligraphy set including papers and your pen..and a light breakfast. Registration is $120 and you can sign up here. The workshop will be hosted at the studio of Christine Wisnieski, a graphic design and creativity studio. More information can be found here on  her blog.

This looks to be a lovely workshop. The perfect Saturday creative morning. I do hope some of you can attend. Enjoy!

  Dinner Lab in the 216

Hi Cleveland friends, hope your week is going great. I am still on such a high from this past weekends amazing Rock Hall Inductions. My favorite musician? Bill Withers hands funny, playful, light-hearted and over-the-top talented. If you ever get the opportunity to see him, run don’t walk!

Screen Shot 2015-04-21 at 10.35.42 PMToday I want to introduce you to a new social dining experiment that has just come to Cleveland, welcome Dinner Lab! This national organization (founded in New Orleans) unites undiscovered chefs with adventurous diners who are looking for something different from the conventional restaurant experience. The DL events bring together strangers around a common table to share cuisine crafted by up-and-coming chefs from all over the country….including right here in the 216.

As a member of Dinner Lab you are provided the opportunity to purchase tickets to an intimate dinner party in town with other like-minded foodie searchers. For $125 per person not only do you have access to purchase tickets to the CLE dinner calendar, but dinners in all of their markets across the country, currently 33 locations.

To become a member follow this link and sign yourself and your friends up for the first -kick off dinner that will be held here in CLE  July 24th, featuring national chef, Daniel Espinoza and his modern Mexican faire. I can’t wait to see you at the summer dinner party!

I was invited as a guest to the new Dinner Lab events as part of their marketing efforts. Thanks for supporting the organization that allows me to create special content like this for iheartcleveland!

  I NEED YOU…Rock Hall Inductions!

Happy Friday & happy Opening Day friends! I hope you scored some good seats for the Tribe’s first 2015 home game and I will plan to see you at the newly remodeled stadium. If you are looking for a bit of an insiders guide to Opening Day check out a post from a few years ago, it’s still full of pertinent tips of the day.

I know I often ask for your opinions and thoughts but today I really need your help and input. Next Saturday – a week from tomorrow – kicks off the 30th Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductions. Yours truly, yep, I can barely believe it….MIGHT, repeat MIGHT have the opportunity to interview some of this years very worthy inductees, Ringo Star! Bill Withers! Joan Jett! Lou Reed! The thing is, I know once I come face to face with some of these rockers I’m gonna freeze and be in awe of their coolness…that’s where YOU come into play.

What should I ask them? As a Clevelander, what do you want to know? Shoot me your questions and I will bring them to the press room and see if I can snag a music celeb or two and represent our city behind the scenes.

If you didn’t get tickets to the inductions, don’t worry there will be SO MANY opportunities to get involved during the week including tomorrow’s FREE Celebration Day and fireworks. Check out all the events and exhibits here!

So send me your questions and I will do my best to get them answered…if I’m not too star struck! :)

Oh and get out and enjoy the CLE Flea this weekend…it’s gonna be a perfect weekend to go  searching for a spring treasure.
