Hello friends and happy hearts week to you! I’m loving all of the pinks and reds in my Instagram this week and can’t wait for even more in the upcoming days.
My London sister-Rebecca is hosting a fashion challenge called #shadesoflove2019…basically dress in red, pink or purple for the next week, hashtag your pics and be entered to win a prize! I’ve been playing along and amazed by all the clothes I own that actually are these girly, lovely hues. I hope to see a bunch of Clevelanders playing along this week!
A few days ago I got together with a few friends to celebrate the new-ish holiday we’ve all come to know as “Galentines.” We sipped champagne at the new Flight Cleveland Wine Bar and enjoyed a small charcuterie platter paired with cupcakes and macarons by Kelsey Elizabeth Cakes. The afternoon highlight was having our Tarot cards read by the lovely Shibahni of Bombay Taxi Boutique, complete with surprise gifts of bling-bling and makeup treats from Kimberley of Smitten in Cleveland! It’s so fun to have gal pals like these two who are always ready for a quick afternoon party. I just read a stat (or was it a Pinterest post? ha!) that said women live longer when they spend quality time with their girlfriends two times a week. Cheers to spending more time with your girlfriends in 2019!
What is everyone doing for Valentines Day this week? Me and Mr. C have a long-standing tradition of going to lunch on the holiday to avoid the night time extravaganzas. We meet up; typically in Tremont and have a nice lunch date to celebrate the holiday and then spend the evening at home and relaxing with our little family, super casual and sometimes over take out.
This year, along with our day date, we are doing something special with another couple, not actually on the actual Valentines Day but the 15th; Friday. Last year, before the holidays we bought tickets to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad; Dinner on the Train with Spice. Dinner will be served on their newly acquired California Zephyr silver Solarium and Silver LariatVista Dome train cars. I am really looking forward to being on the train for the evening, spending time with our good friends over great food and cocktails. Spice does not disappoint so I am sure this will be no different. Winter-spring dinner on the train tickets are currently sold out, but look for the summer tickets going up for sale soon!
So in case, you didn’t get it from my posts above, I really HEART Valentines’ day, I love girly evenings out with friends, I love special lunches with my main squeeze and spending time at home is great too. Have a wonderful Valentines Day week everyone. I LOVE you!
Bonjour Cleveland! How were your weekends? Super fun here, I even did “the switch” bye bye summer frocks, hello fall lovelies. Don’t you just love an organized closet? There is nothing better.
Speaking of closets…I think I literally have like 8 striped black & white, navy & white, red & white, gray & white, yellow & white striped, bateau 3/4 length sleeve tops…so French of me, oui? I mean, truly I am a self proclaimed francophile with my love of all things from the motherland…I mean…I AM half French you know.
Saturday mornings at the Westside Market I grab a crepe from the Crépes De Luxe and when I have more time on my hands I indulge in La Petite Triangle. If I’m in the mood for french food I enjoy La Albatros and insist on some french bubbles and epoissee; French stinky cheese. When I visit the Shaker Square market I sneak a macaron from La Coquette Bakery…let’s just say…this girls LOVES the yummy treats from across the pond.
If my little pug would sit in my rattan bike basket, you might find us riding to work humming the tunes of my favorites films Amélie and Priceless…another good one starring french sweetheart Audrey Tautou. I named our design business both a rolling hills village in France and my favorite shade of green Chartreuse. I have a collection of Eiffel towers that family and friends have brought me back and I have purchased from my trips up the pretty lady. I’m telling you I’m a wee bit of an all french enthusiast
THAT IS WHY…I am SO SO excited for this Sunday’s Hingetown’s “ohh lah lah” french inspired market! I can’t wait to stroll through the romantic streets, sip bubbly, ride bikes, indulge in croissants and baguettes…all while avoiding the long international flight. Don’t miss the french fun…see you there!
I couldn’t resist but to share this deal I just ran into! Steak AND LOBSTER (my ultra favorite treat), perfect for anyone on the low carb kick.
I actually really love the bar at Don’s Lighthouse, it’s dark and cozy and feels like my grandparents house in Connecticut, homey. PLUS, they have some great deals… Check it out!!!
