  Cleveland in Yoga Journal

Congratulations to Cleveland Yoga instructor, Shannon Sabol Baker for her stunning image in this months Yoga Journal Magazine.

Shannon is one of the Lululemon Woodmere (Eaton Collection) Ambassadors as well as an instructor at InnerBliss in Rocky River. She plays her tunes loud and moves her students in an out of strong poses to strengthen the body and the soul.

What a beautiful bride, a strong camel pose and awesome publicity for our city. I love how you can see both the Rock Hall and the Cleveland Cliffs freighter in the background. Way to represent!

Congrats again Shannon, you make both a inspiring instructor and a beautiful bride.

  BARk for Cleveland!

Congrats to Cleveland photographer Regina Strauss for her adorable shot that was published in this months BARk Magazine. This adorable shot of her family pet Zoey warmed the hearts of the art directors and found it’s way to the inside table of contents page. A true photographers dream.

Regi shoots weddings, children and obviously adorable pet shots too. Check out her work on her facebook page (under the photos tabs) as her new website is being completed. She is super talented and we are lucky to have her living among the creative Cleveland class.  Congrats Reg!

Magazine Monday : Halle in More

My favorite thing to do on a road trip is bring a stack of magazines and go through them one more time before recycling them to my local YMCA. I tear and rip out articles that may pertain to me or my fellow magazine-reading pals, sometimes I pull out things that I want to look up online and every once and awhile I even find little tid bits that I want to share here, on iheartcleveland.

Now don’t ask why I read More Magazine, I mean I don’t have anything against those women over forty…but Mom, really? Next time you buy me a subscription can you please send me Oprah, Martha or Shape? Although I appreciate reading about empty nesters, camouflaging sun spots and how to save for my child’s college education…the latest cocktail, the newest designer and exciting art exhibits across the country are more up my alley. (It’s the thought that counts Mom.)

Onto this post…As I was sitting in the back seat on our weekend road trip reading this months More Magazine, I came across a great little article on Cleveland-born Halle Berry. If you are a lover of this phenomenal actress check out her up and coming fragrance she is launching at Target soon. She is over 40, from Cleveland, a brilliant actress and a successful entrepreneur…Cleveland give me a whoop whoop for Ms Halle Berry! (If anyone wants to read the whole article, I will be bringing a stack to the Y this week…look for it there.)

Road Trip : Columbus, OH in Lucky Magazine

Good morning Cleveland. Time to rise and shine and get pumped for a new week! It’s cold out there, but at least the sun is shining. A great excuse to bundle up and wear a hundred layers.

Over the weekend I tried to stay in a bit and get through the stack of skimpy January magazines that had accumulated at the foot of my bed. Everything from Town and Country to Shape, to Country Living (even though I wouldn’t describe my style as “country,” the magazine is real sweet) to Lucky Magazine.

This month Lucky featured Columbus as a great place to shop! It’s only a two hour drive from Cleveland, and I sorta agree…shopping High Street might be a favorite Saturday road trip of mine.

Everything from vintage furniture finds at Grandview Mercantile to Collier West for adorable gifts. The two places I think the editors at Lucky missed were the obvious Jeni’s Ice Cream (for superb ice cream) and On Paper for amazing greeting cards.

Check out the other stores they featured and when you get a chance, pile a few pals in the car for a road trip south!

Can’t get there soon enough? One of the stores featured was Cleveland’s-own, Flower Child. Headquartered on Clifton Blvd in Cleveland, Flower Child is a mecca for vintage clothing, accessories and home goods.

Anyone want to road trip? :)

  NEW November!

Good morning Cleveland,

I hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend. I know I am beat from the parties, candy crashes and late nights in general. Cheers to November.

AND…Cheers to the NEW & improved blog design. Thank you to my good friend Ted who talked me through making such improvements as the ability to search posts, a rolling list of blog comments as well as linking to twitter and the like. Thanks Ted!

On another note, I was flying last week and to my surprise I opened up to this page…check out this article in this months Continental Magazine featuring “Six Great Spots for Sipping Suds in Cleveland,” written by Laura Taxel.

Enjoy and have a great week!
