Happy Wednesday everybody! Another great week and an even better weekend ahead. Are you filling up your holiday weekend with fun picnics, yard work, pre-summer projects and spending time with family and friends? For me we have a few projects to check off the master 2014 list but overall I am looking forward to sunshine, some homemade smoothies and hanging some artwork around the house…oh, and I still want to see a few random movies including Million Dollar Arm and The Other Woman (Yes, I know they probably aren’t Oscar winners, but a good laugh is always welcome.)
Enough about my few weekend plans, have you been to Club Isabella in Little Italy since they reopened? You’re probably saying “where you been?” But seriously, I was there years ago when the ceilings were lower, the space darker and the overall scene more bar-like than a four-star dining experience. Now it is bright and airy and filled with amazing dishes to entice your senses. The drink menu is overflowing with unique cocktails and they have a large selection of wines available. The menu of cheese and charcuterie, of salmon, beef or tuna tartar appetizers is over-the-top scrumptious…they also have “steamed buns du jour,” who else can you say that about? Our dinner consisted of a wedge salad with some amazing deep-fried soft boiled egg, a fennel salad with a fresh citrus dressing and an egg and prosciutto pizza. The food was awesome, the company delightful and while we wish we could have left room for some creme brulée I guess that is the perfect excuse to go back later this summer.
If you’ve never visited Club Isabella you should check it out next time you are in the mood for something delightful. I’m already dreaming of our next visit…..
