Gypsy @ Beck

Did you know that the scrumptious Gypsy Bean coffee shop & bakery now has a second location? They recently celebrated the opening of the second location adjacent to The Beck Center in Lakewood.

The other morning I had a meeting there and couldn’t me more happy that one of my favorite local coffee shops is now just down the road from my office. They offer unique coffee drinks along with delightful buttery bakery items. The space also rotates art from both local and national artists through the space.

This Friday, January 11th stop by The Beck Center for the opening and a free concert by Jing Jing Luo. Ms. Luo is a self taught calligrapher and artists from Beiijing who integrates her art into her music. She will perform one of her music compositions “Cercle de la lune” relating music to her artwork. Jin Jing has served on the faculty of Oberlin’s Conservatory of music as a composer, as well as teaching art at a number of institutions.

The opening and concert will run from 7-9pm. This event is free and open to the public by rsvp’s at (www.art-2-you.com) is appreciated.

So enjoy some good coffee, grab a pastry while you immerse yourself in art and music; it’s all happening at The Beck Center for the Arts!

(Photos include some of the art that is currently hanging in the gallery space/coffee shop. I don’t know the artists name, but if you do please comment and let me know, it’s super charming & whimsy!)
