Land of Nod Nook + Artwork Giveaway

Hello Cleveland. Today I have a lot to share with you. So let’s flashback a few months…

LON_14Back in June, when I attended Alt NYC I met one of the social experts from furnishings & home decor store, The Land of Nod. I was so excited to chat with her because I literally had just finished perusing the latest catalog during my flight to the Big Apple. I explained to her how I and many of my Cleveland home-design-concious adult friends LOVE LOVE LOVE all aspects of The Land of Nod brand although we don’t have children. Many of us have rugs, pillows, wall art and even some of the larger furniture pieces all meshed into our home collections.

She explained to me that The Land of Nod creative team had just been through a rebrand and had landed on the new tagline of “Design for Kids and People That Used to Be Kids.” Personally, I think it is genius, as many of us that love the brand are creative kid-wannabes. New brand=spot on.

Anyhow, she and I stayed in touch and bantered back and forth on Instagram, noticing similar design and creative interests when one day I thought I would extend the conversation to how we could work together on a few fun iheartcleveland posts.

Today kicks off the first of three posts sponsored by The Land of Nod. I hope you’ll enjoy their new products mixed with some of my personal style. I hope that by sharing some of my space infused with their products, it will open your eyes to this Midwest company as more than just a children’s brand, but a place where you can add those touches of whimsy to any adult-like room. As you may have read, iheartcleveland has recently celebrated six years of blogging. As I reflected on the past six years and looked ahead at what is in store for this blog, I realized that carving out a little at-home nook might give me more of a place to collect my thoughts, to “put pen to paper,” to plan my calendar, answer emails and blog away. This blog has outgrown the couch! All I needed was a little desk, a stylish chair and lots of punches of black and red to make the space complete.

My little desk was something I had found at an estate sale, removed the top decorative wooden piece, and painted a high gloss tomato red. The chair was also a steal that I painted black, took an image of downtown Cleveland and had it printed directly to canvas to wrap around the seat cover. Voilá! My office furniture was complete!

With the help of my personal knick knacks and The Land of Nod’s amazing collection, I added the Two-Lane Chevron Rug, the Between a Rock and a Lamp Base (Gold) and the Chevron pouf (for a perfect foot/pug stool). Two small canvas prints (Print Noir Canvas Wall Art in Love & Dream City) liven up the wall space, complete with a fun garland (This Garland is Shaping Up) for a touch of whimsy. The little nook is my perfect space for blogging, dreaming, writing thank you notes, planning my next gathering, shopping for a online deal or just a bit of family facetime. I heart it!
