  Friday Fun!

Good morning Cleveland and happy Friday! Where did the week go? It literally just flew by right before my very eyes. So many things to be excited about this weekend including tonights fish fry with friends, more Cleveland International Film Festival movies, getting lucky at the Horseshoe Casino (including brunch) and tickets to the Terminal Tower Observation Deck! And don’t even get me started on more baby fashions/room decorating…It’s gonna be a very fun two days.

What about you? Big weekend plans? While they are predicting rain, at least it is planning on being mid 40’s and above, so that’s a positive, don’t you think?

A few things to keep you excited this weekend…

Did you watch the movie that Positively Cleveland has produced (above?) The tune is catchy and the visuals gorgeous. While it took me a few views to get totally on board, I truly do love how they pair “fancy Cleveland” with the “everyday Cleveland.” It shows all sides of our city and I think they did a perfect job at capturing our spirit. Great job guys!

The Film Festival : It’s the last weekend of the 38th Annual Cleveland International Film Festival and there are still movies with seats available and plenty on standy-by. Check out the schedule and choose wisely, oh and don’t forget your popcorn and twirlers for the perfect movie treat.

Fish Fry Fridays : If you don’t already have dinner plans, grab some friends and plan on gorging on fried fish, mac n cheese, french fries and all those other yummy lenten delights tonight. Personally I like the fish that St Mary’s Romanian Orthodox Catholic Parish on Warren Road in Westpark serves up but there are SO MANY options in our communities. For a complete list of fish fry’s both east side & west side check out the ultimate list that Cleveland.com has put together.

Transformer Station Opening Party : Tonight join the crew over at the Transformer Station for the gallery opening of Christian Patterson Redheaded Peckerwood and Superblack work by Jordan Tate. The party kicks off at 7pm with live spinning dj’s, book signings and a cash bar.

Oh Joy for Target : I don’t know about you guys, but this new party decoration line at Target is too sweet for words. Thanks to Joy Cho and her talented team of designers I have managed to hoard many pastel plastic goblets and coordinating scalloped edged party napkins. I am tempted to take home the cake pedestal but for now I just love my bit of party fun from Oh Joy. Now, I must get to work planning a party!

My go to Radio Station : It’s not an event per say, but I love me some tunes from the 20’3, 30’s & 40’s and if you ever get in my car you will probably here WKHR 91.5 on the radio. This volunteer-run radio station has little commercial interruptions and darling weather reports. I just love this little station. This month they are doing a radio-thon raising funds to keep the oldies alive. I wanted to share this little tie bit in case anyone enjoys the station like I do. Listen now!

Have a great weekend everybody. Looking forward to sharing more with you next week. Peace.

Not only is it playing at this years festival, it is playing on Monday, March 24th which is “free movie day” thanks to the generosity of the Cleveland Foundation.  Get your tickets today!

IX Indoor Amusement Park : While this festival is still a few weeks away, kicking off March 21st and going through April 20th…I have a pair of tickets for one lucky reader. To win them, tweet me “@iheartclev I’d love to play at this years @IXAMP!” winner to be drawn by Friday, March 14th.

So that is what I have for today, have a wonderful weekend everybody. Enjoy the sunshine, but please…no shorts, tank tops of flip flops just yet. :)

It’s that time again friends; time for this years 38th Annual Cleveland International Film Festival.

Recently I had the opportunity to go and check out what the Sundance Film Festival was all about and I gotta say, we Clevelanders really know how to do a film fest up right. Don’t get me wrong Sundance is beautiful set in the picturesque Park City, Utah; nestled in the mountains, blue skies, tons of celebs and skiing, tons of skiing…BUT…our film festival has INSANE energy. An energy that builds and builds until festival kick off and then a wave of excitement and creative energy takes over our city bringing along films from across the world to the CLE!

The Cleveland International Film Festival is literally one the best gems of our town, the countdown has started and I hope you are as excited as I am. For me, the film fest means getting out of work a bit early to go see a French film, it means having my Mom come into town for our annual tradition of packing our weekend with everything from documentaries to dramas, it means eating popcorn and twizzlers for dinner with my best friend and fellow ticket holder, and most of all it means being so inspired by the creative minds that dream up, that write, that direct and those who act; making these movies more than just a film, but a gateway to the talented individuals who create them.

Have I inspired you to make this year’s Festival a must-see? Oh, I do hope so. Tickets to members go on sale this Saturday, the coveted paper version of the film programs should be out and about this weekend or early next week and tickets to the public go on sale March 7th.  Once you pick your films, go online and use this CIFF Discount Code of  “IHRTCLE” for $2 off of every ticket purchased.

I hope I see everybody down at Tower City Cinemas for what looks to be another amazing  creative celebration; The 38th Annual Cleveland International Film Festival…GET PSYCHED!

Hey friends, happy TGIF to you! Check out the ad (above) that came though my inbox this week…aren’t those painted edge business cards super cute? Ha! They do such a great job at small orders as well as large national print needs, I highly recommend them for anything you might need down the road. Thanks guys!

Today marks the return of Friday Fun. I received so much great feedback about the weekly listing about things happening around town I couldn’t resist but to bring it back. I have to admit, not drinking as much due to the little bambino has kept me a bit out of the total social scene…but there is light at the end of the tunnel and I can’t wait to get back to those dirty martini’s with all of you…two blue cheese olives please.

Check out some fun things happening around our city this weekend…bundle up, it’s gonna get cold again…brrr.

Short. Sweet. Film Festival : Who doesn’t love short films? An opportunity to get a snip it into the mind of the writer and director is always so much fun.   Happy Weekend!

Happy Friday friends. Hope everybody had a great week. From kicking it off with the Tribe’s Home Opener, and then the 70 degree tank top wearing Tuesday, followed up by a mid-week Wednesday night house party and now prepping for the weekend I swear, there are so many fun things to do and this weekend is no exception.

Tonight get yourself to Tremont to enjoy the monthly Art Walk. Perhaps you could also stop by the newly revamped Tremont Scoops for some creamy spring sweets.

Saturday brings the really fun day of the Lottery League concerts. Many artists coming together to form new bands, new songs and new sounds for our region…topped off with food trucks and you’ve got yourself a MUST for your Saturday.

There are also some new additional showings and stand by tickets available for this years Cleveland International Film Festival movies. Happy Birthday shout out to the CIFF as they actually turn 37 years old on Saturday.

There is the big Best of the Scene Party at the Cleveland Public Library on Friday night and Yuri’s Night Party at the Science Center on Saturday night.

Hey, and if you feel like finding a good vintage score, don’t miss the Cleveland FLEA or Gray’s Auction, Warehouse Auction.

Also if you didn’t get enough of the first week of our Indians (Let’s Go Tribe!) they are playing the White Socks all weekend long. Take me out to the ballpark!

Cheers everybody, is it time for a cocktail yet? :)
