Happy Friday everybody! Another great one in the CLE. The holidays are upon us with next weeks Thanksgiving and soon to follow the rest of the happy holidays. Holiday excitement kicks off this weekend with a visit to the Westside Market for turkey day staples, the Holiday Cleveland Flea for a bit of pre-shopping, the tree lighting at Crocker Park and of course the Browns/Steelers game; Go Browns!
I know I may have posted this picture somewhere in the social space before, but I just LOVE it! You gotta love Ms. Mae West…she was one tough and quotable cookie! What a great quote for living life to it’s fullest.
Just a few details on some of the weekend highlights and a couple of other cool happenings in town.
Cleveland Flea : This weekend you’ve got to check out the monthly gatherings of area artisans and entrepreneurs! A wonderful place to get a head start on your holiday shopping. Want to get a sneak peak to the weekend sale? Buy your ticket to tonights Sneak Peak Party. 6417 St. Clair Ave.
Tree Lighting at Crocker Park : While I don’t want my home tree up until after Thanksgiving…I love to see the decorations go up at local retailers and this Saturday’s holiday lighting, live music and perhaps a visit from Sir Claus himself! Tis the season everyone.
Compassion for Fashion : I mentioned it last week but just a reminder to get out and support the wonderful event at Beachwood Place Mall. Congrats to Alissa for scoring a pair of tickets to the event!
Stash Style Pop Up : Feeling a bit Shabby Chic? Go visit my friends Shannon and Carin as they partner for a weekend of vintage finds for you! Friday 5-9pm and Saturday 11-5pm in Beachcliff Market Square in Rocky River.
Spice Kitchen spend $25 get $50 : We heard this morning on the radio that Chef Ben at Spice Kitchen was offering a sweet deal. Buy a $50 gift certificate for $25. That is one pretty great deal to be thankful for…get yours today before they are gone!
Happy weekend everyone!
Hello and happy Monday everybody. What a beautiful weekend living in the 216 don’t you think? Over the weekend I was a super lucky lady to have my sister and her friend visiting from the Pacific Northwest city of Seattle. An entire weekend of showing them the coolest parts of the city, visiting with some great friends and “consuming” some yummy meals & summer cocktails.
Not to share every detail of the weekend…but just a few of the tourist highlights….here we go!
– We kicked off the weekend with lunch at the Greenhouse Tavern including an amazing hamburger and a few lovely drinks. (I polished off my burger to discover the cute piggy plate, love it!)
– We walked around downtown exploring the new grounds of the Cleveland Convention Center, such wonderful, new, urban green space.
Happy sunny Monday everybody. Hope you had a great weekend and your Monday morning was relatively painless. My weekend was super fun-filled and I am still trying to quiet my mind back to business, shaking out the fuzzy weekend haze. From farmer’s markets and an arts fest to dinner with the girls and a nauti-styled, collaborative photoshoot with some of my fave CLE-creative peeps (more to come, down the road) this weekend’s activities were a perfect example of why I love living in the 216.
I wanted to take today to give a bit of a shout out to my fellow Junior League of Cleveland members who have worked so hard to host this upcoming weekend’s Stiletto Sprint. The JLC is presenting its first annual Stiletto Sprint & Soiree August 10, 2013 at Crocker Park and we would like to extend the invite to you, come and be a part of it!
Your $30 ticket includes the actual race (a foot race in Stiletto heels for women & men), fun awards, beer tasting and a fall fashion show. Be sure to bring flip flops for after the party! To get your tickets for this VERY fun event check out the details on the Crocker Park website here.
Still not 100% on whether I’ll be racing…let’s just say I am not the most coordinated runner, let alone in heels…but I will for sure be there to cheers my fellow dare devils on.
Tomorrow night, and most Thursday’s through the end of summer, Crocker Park shows FREE outdoor movies. Tomorrow, grab yourself a Baby Ruth, your best friend named Chunk, and a blanket…because they are showing GOONIES! One of my ultimate favorite childhood flicks of all time.
For the entire summer film lineup, check out their site. So fun! Happy Summer.
