Hello CLE! Hope you had a great weekend and an even better Monday. We had a pretty chill weekend checking out a new art exhibit, time at home, a fun visit with friends and their new baby, great thai food and lots of family time…

Today I want to share with you about two big art exhibits that are incredible and not to be missed. The first is the Basquiat show at the Cleveland Museum of Art and the second is a new show at the Akron Museum of Art called Please Touch. Both inspiring, both full of energy and passion…you’ve got to make time to go check them out.

Basquiat; The Unknown Notebooks is an intimate look into the life of Brooklyn-based Jean-Michel Basquiat and his series of notebooks. Filled with sketches, notes, daily thoughts this exhibit is thought-provoking and will make you think about the art, the artist and the time period in which it was created. Make sure you get to the exhibit soon, it closes on April 23rd and you won’t want miss out.

The second exhibit is is super family-friendly show at the Akron Museum of Art called Please Touch by Jay Croft, Erin Guido & John Paul Costello and Jordan Elise Perme & Christopher Leese (also known as Horrible Adorables.) You guys!!!! This show was SO MUCH fun…for both adults and toddlers alike. I HIGHLY suggest you pack up the car and head down to Akron to see this show, you have some time it runs until mid July!

Cleveland artist, Erin Guido is hosting a one-woman opening at Urban Orchid tonight. Her work is filled with bright, colorful sayings made from both cut paper and paint.  Inspired by the city around her, Erin also works full time at LAND Studio. Erin’s art is so fresh and playful, you’ll love her and want to buy up all of her prints to hang in your winter homes!

Feel like busting a move on the dance floor to shake off the “winter chillies?” Hit up the February MIX at the Cleveland Museum of Art as they host a funky dance party featuring our own, Cleveland DJ, DJ Mazi Jahi. Tonight from 5-9pm. Tickets are $10, cash bar.

Cleveland Valentines Bazaar. Looking for a sweet locally made gift for your Valentine? Look no further than the show and sale this Saturday. From 10am to 4pm stop into there Lakewood Masonic Temple to meet the makers behind some exquisite gifts for your honey.

There is a new gallery show in town, opening this Saturday at the Transformer Station. Process and Abstraction opens to the public Saturday evening at 7pm. This museum is by far my favorite little arts gem tucked into the Hingetown neighborhood, it is just too cool. I highly recommend checking it out!
