Goldfish Swim School : Water Safety Month!

In honor of May and Water Safety Month I wanted to share a bit about this incredible swim school we have been taking our little ninja to; Goldfish Swim School!

The staff at Goldfish is incredible. Every class, every point of contact with the parents is both professional and super fun. As parents, we love it almost as much as he does. When Saturday mornings roll around he knows to go and get into his swim shorts and that it is time to “kick kick kick” and “pull pull pull.” There are lots of water toys to keep the little swimmers interested in engaged, learning made fun in the water!

With summer on the horizon the team at Goldfish is celebrating May and Water Safety Month with a party! Join them this Saturday, May 14 from 2-5pm for their special family day including family swim, in-water safety stations, snacks (hot dogs & snow cones) face-painting and so much more. $5/swimmer or $15 max per family. Children under 2 swim free. (A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Swim for Diabetes.)

Seriously, I really have enjoyed our time at Goldfish. I think it is imperative to teach little people to swim and be comfortable in and around the water. What better place to learn than someplace with super fun instructors, lots of great water toys, in a safe and clean environment. Did I mention the air and water is always at 90 degrees…total tropical luxury!

Happy Swimming everyone. I hope to see you on Saturday, learn to swim, let’s get ready for summer.

SPONSORED POST : I was invited to attend swim lessons at GoldFish in exchange for a post here as part of their social engagements efforts. Thanks for supporting this business as they celebrate wellness, water safety and play while allowing me to create special content like this for iheartcleveland!

  2016 & holiday giveaway winners!

(New stickers for a new year…SO FUN!)

Happy Monday everyone. How was your weekend? Honestly, I can’t believe it’s mid January already. These last few days have been filled with purging from last year and planning for a year ahead. We’ve been starting to make vacation plans for the year ahead (gotta love having things to look forward too!) We’ve been immersing ourselves in magazines and Pinterest getting inspired with regards to planning for our kitchen remodel. I’ve been trying to stay the course eating well and working out a bunch. So far this year is really shaping up nicely. Isn’t it awesome that at anytime (and especially the beginning to a new year) we can reset and make new goals? Love it!

When it comes to goals I always like to make three lists. I’m a compulsive list maker in general but these January lists are super important in keeping me on track for the entire year. I revisit the lists, rework them, and concede when something needs to adjust to the master. My three lists are Home, Life and Work.

The home list typically involves any home improvements I want to see to our space. Typically this includes painting this or that, remodeling or redesigning a room or maybe it’s as simple as buying a new comforter or towels.

The life list is usually the longest – filled with personal wellness goals, travel goals, and even goals about new hobbies or interests I may have.

Then work goals are just that, since I own our design studio this list is important to making a successful work year. I have lots of input on this list of goals from my staff and we try our best to revisit it thought the year in order to ensure we finish the year with a solid, most creative year behind us.

While it might sound like a lot, my three lists are what make me happy. As a creative person it is very easy for me to get distracted and want to change direction at any given moment, knowing I have mapped out a year filled with goals keeps me engaged and on track.

How about you guys. Have you made your lists filled with goals for the new year? I’d love to be inspired by some of your goals, do share!

Goldfish is also hosting a bunch of exciting tropical swimming events throughout the month of December that CLE families might be interested in attending (i.e. family swims during the week while your kiddos are out of school, Swim with Frosty, etc.) For details on these events visit the locations Facebook page.

Baby Ninja can’t wait to sign up for his lessons at the Fairview Park location and to be honest when the snow does finally decide to hit us. I will also be so excited to head indoors and do a bit of swimming with the little fishy babies. When I was in high school I used to teach water babies at the Y, so I am super psyched to have a new pool near home to spend winter afternoons with my little guppy at. Can’t wait to have this new activity center nearby.

To win today’s generous giveaway from GoldFish Swim School, like either Goldfish location on Facebook and then head off to twitter and give me a shout “@iheartclev I’d love to take my little fishy’s to @GoldfishSwim this winter!” Good luck everyone, looking forward to seeing you in the pool this winter! Not to worry if you don’t win, they have gift certificates available and the lesson of swimming would make a great gift!

I was invited to swim with GoldFish Swim School as part of their social engagements efforts. In exchange for this post I was provided lessons for me and Baby Ninja! Thanks for supporting this growing business in the CLE that allows me to create special content like this for iheartcleveland!

family : Goldfish Swim School : giveaway

Today I am thrilled to introduce a longtime friend of mine and new contributor to this blog. She will be posting from time to time on all things fun & different to do with your family in the CLE. Welcome “iheartcleveland families!”

“Hello CLE! I am super excited to be the new iheartcleveland “families” contributor; I’ve been friends with “iheart” for over ten years and am thrilled to be part of this community. When she asked me if I might be interested in rounding out the CLE blog by adding my own family activity and experiences to the mix (I have a 6, 7 and 9 yr. old) I couldn’t resist…
