So the other day someone tagged me in a liebster; which can best be described as chain mail for bloggers. Sharing a list of answers to questions assigned to you from the sender. While I often don’t participate in these types of posts, Kate Hardy’s email was too sweet not to play along, so here goes nothing.

I didn’t choose all of her unique questions, instead picking up some of her original topics, I still think it is a good little representation of me for this chilly Tuesday; enjoy.

LEIBSTERNow it’s my turn…I nominate Allison, Danielle and Reena to answer either some of my answers above or a few of these new questions…

1. Wine, Craft Beers or Bourbon?
2. If you could jet set tomorrow, where would you go?
3. Tattoos?
4. What is your St Patricks Day tradition in the CLE?
5. Have you been to Tina’s and what was your karaoke song?

Day 12 : A nightly routine by Swell Skin!

Day_12Good morning everyone and happy chilly Monday! I hope you were one of the lucky ones who got to sleep late and stay bundled up under the comforter today. Myself, I don’t mind the arctic chill all that much, especially knowing I am going to hit the spin bikes tonight at Harness Cycle an instant warm up to the winter cold temps!

How were your weekends? I am in super prep mode for this years Alt Summit conference in a few weeks in Salt Lake City. There I will join a handful of other bloggers, designers, small business entrepreneurs to discuss the new year, aspirational goals, social trends, design love and of course, fashion…lots of fashion! I spent a good chunk of the weekend trying to develop my what-to-wear list. Balancing anything anything sparkly and shiny with the more practical side of winter styles…sweaters, fur and down puffy coats! Of course I managed to pick up a few vintage pieces from some of Cleveland’s best vintage stores (Flower Child & Chelsea’s!) to add excitement and a bit of the unique to conference attire, gotta love a good vintage score!

Besides a lot of home time-playing in my closet, we also saw the Wolf of Wall Street starring Leonardo DieCaprio. While I did see may positive parts of the film, let’s just say the three hour film did not hold my attention. We are really doing our best to see all of the top Golden Globe/Oscar nominated flicks this year. It’s a fun challenge to see all of them, lots of popcorn to go along!

Today is the last of my 12 days of giveaways fun and I couldn’t be more pleased to share. Are you good with your nightly skin care routine? Oh, I wish I was. Most nights I fall asleep and then zombie-walk into bed on a good night peeling out my disposable contacts. While “have a better night routine” has been on my resolutions list for years, I think just sticking with a few key tasks might actually make this year a more attainable goal. Here is where Swell Skin come into play.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine recommended I try this unique nightly 2 step skin soap and oil combinatinon.  No toners, lotions, scrubs and voilla, my skin has never looked better! Developed by a local entrepreneur this simple two step routine, Swell Skin can be found both online and also at our local grocery, Heinens. You’ve got to check it out.

To win a soap and oil combo skin care set by Swell Skin tweet me “@iheartclev I’d love to win some fabulous skincare products from #SwellSkin” The winners we will be drawn by Friday, January 10th. Good luck!

Stay warm Cleveland. Bring your pets indoors. Check on your neighbors. Eat soup! peace.

Day 4 : Ride & hydrate with Harness Cycle

Hey CLE, is everyone headed to see my boyfriend..aka Justin Timberlake tonight, 8pm at the Q? I’ll be the one he is singing to…just so we are all aware. Ha! :)

Today’s Day 4 of the “12 Days of Giveaways” comes from the team over at the rockin Harness Cycle; indoor cycling studio.

Have you been meaning to try out cycling just in time to burn off some of those cookies and eggnog? Well, Anne has kindly provided one lucky reader a 3-class pass to take a few rides, engage your core, spin to the beat of some amazing tunes and sweat you heart out. But wait…there’s more! She also wants to ensure we are drinking enough water during our holiday rides and has ever-so-kindly donated the seasons “must-have accessory,” a BKR glass & silicone water bottle.

This giveaway is valued at almost $50 and the riders high you will get from any of the instructors is literally priceless. I’m telling you, this is one amazing giveaway. Thanks a bunch Harness Cycle!

To win the 3-class pass to Harness Cycle & a new BKR water bottle? Just tweet me “@iheartclev I’d love to ride & hydrate at @HarnessCycle this holiday season!”  The winner will be drawn by random end of day Wednesday, December 18th. Good luck!

Friday fun + party ticket giveaway!

Hey CLE! What a busy week it’s been. From teaching my first ride at Harness Cycle (way to go riders!) to enjoying time with a friend over dinner at Toast and seeing the AMAZING performance of Sweeny Todd at the Hanna Theatre…I am ready for the weekend.

As always there is so much happening and I will fill you all in, after today’s ticket giveaway. Today, I have two tickets to the highly anticipated Bourbon Street Ball, an annual fundraiser for the LGBT Community Center. The party is Sunday, October 27th at the House of Blues from 6-10pm. There will be costumes, comedy and lots of great music. If you want a pair of tickets, give me a little tweet at “@iheartclev I’d love tickets to the @BourbonStBall!”  The winner will be drawn by random end of day Monday, October 21st. Good luck!

I also wanted to remind you that Sweeny Todd does run for a few more weeks and it is truly a wonderful production. The talented of the actors & actresses blew my mind, the music was amazing and I can’t even tell you how creepy and cool all the blood and baking was. Just go…It’s awesome.

A few other spooky weekend happenings for you to check out…

– Fifth Annual Cleveland Zombie Crawl : This is way too spooky for me, but if you can swing it get your zombie on or watch the crawl. It kicks off at ABC Tavern at 8pm in Ohio City. Register online by today or pay cash at the door to participate.

Dead Ride : along those same lines, if you want to dress as a zombie and ride your bikes around town, it’s time for the annual Dead Ride Saturday afternoon at 3pm. The ride begins at Lincoln park Pub in Tremont, so pump up those tires and wear your best bloody costume, it’ time for the  Dead Ride. (again, another one thats way too spooky for me!)

–  IX-Center’s Spooktacular Trick or Treat Street Festival – If you have little ones and aren’t into super Zombie scares…there is always the IX-Centers’s Spooktacular Trick or Treat Street Festival. Lots of candy, prizes for costumes, a 3-d mystery manor, live entertainment, rides and more. Might be a good Saturday afternoon family option as they are currently predicting rain.

– Heights Music Hop : Tonight in the Cedar-Lee District of Cleveland Heights , enjoy local bands free of charge at nine different stages between the library and Zagara’s grocery store. I hear it’s gonna be a greta time and looks like it will be nice and dry for a fall evening of musical fun.

– Pumpkin Carving Contest : This is actually for next week, but since fall scheules are busy I wanted to let everyone know about McNulty’s Bier Market’s Annual pumpkin carving contest on October 24th. Get a free pumpkin with the purchase of ANY pumpkin beer. Winner to receive a pumpkin beer basket…Sounds fun.

Happy Friday, happy weekend everybody!

  Harness Cycle!

Happy Tuesday friends. I am so excited to share today’s post with everybody as I am super thrilled to be a part of this new business opening. While the Hingetown flagship cycling studio is still under construction Harness Cycle is ready to ride at their temporary home; Cycle LAB at 1810 West 25th.

Screen Shot 2013-10-15 at 7.58.09 AMThis new studio is the brainchild of a 2012 Bad Girls Business Venture graduate. Her goal; to create a supportive community of wellness enthusiasts centered around indoor cycling in Cleveland. After months of planning, finding the perfect bikes, selecting a team of instructors, training and lots of fun, it’s now time to RIDE!

Reserve your bikes while they are still available for this weekends opening at http://tackk.com/cyclelab. Bring a bottle of water, a towel and get ready to get down…it’s like a cardio dance party on a bike.

I will be teaching and taking music requests for my classes. Looking forward to getting a good sweat on with you Cleveland. We who play together, stay together! Go Harness Cycle, super proud of you.
