Sesame Street LIVE + ticket giveaway

Screen Shot 2016-03-28 at 11.31.08 AM(insert whistle…) “Sunny days chasing the clouds away”…have you heard that song? Does it ring a bell perhaps? Currently “my roomate” is addicted to the little red furry guy, perhaps you’ve heard of him…ELMO? For real, from the moment he wakes up to the second he falls asleep, all I hear is “Elmo! Elmo! Elmo!” We are hoping it‘s just a phase…

BUT…in the meantime we are going to embrace this current obsession and take him to the upcoming LET’S DANCE, Sesame Street Live show visiting Playhouse Square, April 7th through April 10th.

My mom is also going to be in town that week (for our tenth Annual Film Festival girls weekend!) and she is pretty pscyched about taking Toddler Ninja to the big Let’s Dance (ELMO) show!

Hosted by two live performers, Sesame Street Live, “Let’s Dance!” offers an up-close interactive-experience. The audience is invited to dance as all of our favorite Sesame Street characters (say it with me now….ELMO!!!) teach us their favorite moves. I hear there is an appearance by Mr. Cookie Monster (teaching our “feets” to dance) Elmo (doing the “Robot!”) and of course the evening woudn’t be complete without a little Ernie action.

So since we are in it to win it with ELMO we can’t wait to go see Let’s Dance by Sesame Street at Playhouse Square. Seriously I think I am going to do a countdown calendar so we can all get as excited for this awesome show.

Do you want to go and dance with Elmo and the rst of the Sesame Street gang? I have a family pack of four tickets to give to one lucky Mom or Dad. To enter to win, tweet me “@iheartclev My family would love to go see @SesameStLive at @playhousesquare!” Winner to be chosen Monday, April 4th! Good luck!

I was invited to attend the media opening of this Playhouse Square Show as part of their social engagements efforts. Thanks for supporting the them as they bring in incredible entertainment and arts to our region and allow me to create special content like this for iheartcleveland!

(New stickers for a new year…SO FUN!)

Happy Monday everyone. How was your weekend? Honestly, I can’t believe it’s mid January already. These last few days have been filled with purging from last year and planning for a year ahead. We’ve been starting to make vacation plans for the year ahead (gotta love having things to look forward too!) We’ve been immersing ourselves in magazines and Pinterest getting inspired with regards to planning for our kitchen remodel. I’ve been trying to stay the course eating well and working out a bunch. So far this year is really shaping up nicely. Isn’t it awesome that at anytime (and especially the beginning to a new year) we can reset and make new goals? Love it!

When it comes to goals I always like to make three lists. I’m a compulsive list maker in general but these January lists are super important in keeping me on track for the entire year. I revisit the lists, rework them, and concede when something needs to adjust to the master. My three lists are Home, Life and Work.

The home list typically involves any home improvements I want to see to our space. Typically this includes painting this or that, remodeling or redesigning a room or maybe it’s as simple as buying a new comforter or towels.

The life list is usually the longest – filled with personal wellness goals, travel goals, and even goals about new hobbies or interests I may have.

Then work goals are just that, since I own our design studio this list is important to making a successful work year. I have lots of input on this list of goals from my staff and we try our best to revisit it thought the year in order to ensure we finish the year with a solid, most creative year behind us.

While it might sound like a lot, my three lists are what make me happy. As a creative person it is very easy for me to get distracted and want to change direction at any given moment, knowing I have mapped out a year filled with goals keeps me engaged and on track.

How about you guys. Have you made your lists filled with goals for the new year? I’d love to be inspired by some of your goals, do share!

Day 3 giveaway : Elf at Playhouse Square

10daysofgiveaways4

Here we are, Day 3! Time to start planning all the fun activities for when you have time off before Christmas and New Years and what could be better than a visit to Playhouse Square for the holiday comedy, ELF the musical!

Elf is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.

Today I have a 4-pack of tickets to the show for opening night, on Tuesday, December 29. SO COOL!!! To enter tweet and tell me why you’d like to go see Elf! “@iheartclev I’d love to see @ElfTheMusical @PlayhouseSquare because….” Can’t wait to hear your reasons…most creative entry wins! Go to town you guys. Cheers & Happy holidays!

I was provided tickets to giveaway for Elf the Musical as part of their social engagements efforts Thanks for supporting this arts organization in the CLE that allows me to create special content like this for iheartcleveland!

Jump Back Ball • get your tickets!

Screen Shot 2015-11-17 at 11.36.23 AM

Hey guys. Happy Tuesday to you! Hope your beginning of your week is going smoothly and fun plans for the rest of your week. With the holidays ahead of us I feel like my calendar is quickly filling up with many fun gatherings, happy hours and holiday cheer. While everyone is currently concentrating on Thanksgiving and Christmas, I have been looking ahead to February and already planning my outfit for this years Playhouse Square Partners, 25th Annual Jump Back Ball.

As one of our cities largest fundraisers, “Jump Back” is filled with great music, awesome food (including unlimited soft pretzels!) open bar(s) and many, many surprises throughout the evening. I wouldn’t just say this, but honestly it is seriously such a fun party you don’t want to miss it. The good thing is tickets are currently on sale, so make sure and gather some friends and plan a night out in February by getting your tickets today. This annual event is sure to sell out so you don’t want to wait until after the holidays because you won’t be able to find tickets.

This years theme is Under the Big Top, so as far as my outfit goes, I’m thinking perhaps black and white stripes, or a top hat…perhaps a bit of sequins or maybe even a color-blocked, clown-inspired-chic? Let the fun costume planning begin! Of course if you don’t feel like dressing to the theme, this is the perfect party for you to buy that awesome formal dress you’ve seen but didn’t really have a place to wear it to.

You don’t want to miss this one CLE-friends. It seriously is THE gala of the year. Get your tickets today!

I was invited to purchase a BOGO ticket to this years fundraiser in exchange for social outreach as part of Jump Back Ball social relations efforts. Thanks for supporting this organization that allow me to create special content like this for iheartcleveland!

Winter weekend at home + happenings

Hey Cleveland. Everybody staying nice and warm? I mean..while I’m typically not one to complain about the weather…please Mother Nature, anything above 0 degrees would be welcome!

Over the weekend I had a visitor from the big apple and while we spent most of our time huddled up around the fireplace we did get out on the town a bit.

Kicking off the girls weekend, we hit up Jack Flaps for a totally indulgent brunch of Lemon Curd Pancakes and the PB& J French Toast. Then we did a bit of thrift shopping, grocery shopping (West Side Market & Park to Shop Asian Market) and with one glass of vino from Deagans headed home to settle in for the winter hibernation. But enough about my weekend…let’s talk about this upcoming week…

It’s a big week here in the 216. Lots of fun, fundraisers and parties about town. Wednesday night kicks off the fun with the second annual Hunger Network of Clevelands “All about the Bag!” party. Congrats to Missy Krause, she won a pair of tickets to the evening soirée! Missy, email me for details. For those of you who still need tickets, visit their site NOW!

Then there is the annual Playhouse Square bash on Saturday evening…the 24th annual Jump Back Ball celebration. I’ve got my sparkly dress how about you guys? While tickets may be sold out I believe you can find a few for sale on Craigs List, check it out.

So while the weekend might have been full of lounging, lattes and a bit of baby play, this week is all about getting dressed up and celebrating some of our local non profits. Happy Monday you guys. Chat real soon.
