Hey CLE, and happy Monday. Congrats to all the runners who crushed yesterday’s Rock and Roll half marathon & mini marathon, it was super humid but you all looked amazing!
Today I am pleased to share my second Land of Nod post-partnership. If you remember I posted in August about my little Land of Nod blogging nook and how their product line is WAY MORE than just furniture for kids. Well today I’d like to share how you can also incorporate their adorable products for the everyday, “man-child” birthday bash (& poker game!)
It’s not every day that you take time to celebrate an adult birthday at home with friends. It seems that more than ever, we often meet out for a beer or a glass of wine to celebrate our friends new year ahead. With my “man-friend” turning a certain number on the birthday growth chart, I thought it might be fun to host a little home party, invite some of the other “men-children” over, have dinner, some shananigans and a bit of poker playing to celebrate the BIG birthday year.
What is a “man-child” you say? Well, he is the ultimate grown up guy who likes to have a good time. He may like a good prank, still lives for a snowboarding snow days, enjoys cartoons on Saturday morning, has a mega sweet tooth, loves to play outdoors (& dreams of the ultimate tree fort) and can’t get enough of those video games. Was that an okay description? Do you have a man-child in your life? Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m totally not knocking a good man-child and everyone should have one in their life, super fun times!
Hey Cleveland and happy Friday! Looks like we are in for a lovely Labor Day weekend weather wise…perhaps a bit of a drizzle here and there but overall a great one for beach, barbecues, football and those final few summer cocktails!
Yesterday I the pleasure of lunching at Flour. I always forget what a wonderful place it is and the bar set up; to die for. Plus, they have these deep fried goat cheese stuffed olives…you’ve got to try them some time. I sorta want another plate right now.
Lots of fun things happening in the 216 this weekend…but just a few reminders. Tonight is the big yoga, music and everything CLE event “Believe in CLE” hosted by Innerbliss Yoga, Lululemon and the Rock Hall. The event kicks off at 7pm with the actual yoga flow at 8pm. Be there early as they are expecting hundreds of yogi’s from all over Northeast, Ohio. I am psyched!
Tomorrow kicks off the first Buckeyes football game of the season. Kick off against Buffalo at noon. O.H.I.O. Go scarlet & gray!
This weekend is also the perfect time to get out and explore the area beaches one more time. My favorite? I like them all for different reasons….Huntington when I only have a few hours to spend in the sun as it is close to home, Edgewater when I want to meet up with friends and spend the day enjoying the beach PLUS all the incredible people watching and if I want to feel like I am going on a mini vacation…Mentor Headlands, they have the best sand! Bust out your sun screen & beach towels it’s one more time!
Oh…and don’t forget about those white pants and shoes…you’ve GOT to wear them this weekend…HA! Who really follows that rule anymore? White jeans look fantastic with a chunky cable knit sweater and jean jacket in the fall…while you are picking pumpkins of course. :)
Have a fantastic Labor Day everybody. Don’t forget to enter the Land of Nod giveaway from my previous post. Winner to be drawn on Tueday!
Hello Cleveland. Today I have a lot to share with you. So let’s flashback a few months…
Back in June, when I attended Alt NYC I met one of the social experts from furnishings & home decor store, The Land of Nod. I was so excited to chat with her because I literally had just finished perusing the latest catalog during my flight to the Big Apple. I explained to her how I and many of my Cleveland home-design-concious adult friends LOVE LOVE LOVE all aspects of The Land of Nod brand although we don’t have children. Many of us have rugs, pillows, wall art and even some of the larger furniture pieces all meshed into our home collections.
She explained to me that The Land of Nod creative team had just been through a rebrand and had landed on the new tagline of “Design for Kids and People That Used to Be Kids.” Personally, I think it is genius, as many of us that love the brand are creative kid-wannabes. New brand=spot on.
Anyhow, she and I stayed in touch and bantered back and forth on Instagram, noticing similar design and creative interests when one day I thought I would extend the conversation to how we could work together on a few fun iheartcleveland posts.
Today kicks off the first of three posts sponsored by The Land of Nod. I hope you’ll enjoy their new products mixed with some of my personal style. I hope that by sharing some of my space infused with their products, it will open your eyes to this Midwest company as more than just a children’s brand, but a place where you can add those touches of whimsy to any adult-like room.
