Hey Cleveland, another great weekend in the books. Welcome summer; we have been waiting for you.

This evening I wanted to share with you about an exciting art and design conference called Weapons of Mass Creation (WMC.) The reason I am sharing with you now is that it seriously almost always sells out so you’ve got to secure tickets early…we’ve got ours..get yours soon!

The planning team over at WMC have shared a very thorough conference description that I though best to simply share with you guys! Here we go…

“Cleveland, now more than ever is a city to be seen, “heard,” and witnessed. From our unwavering sports fan community to our restaurant scene to our world-class healthcare, cost of living and the palpable energy everywhere we aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Cleveland’s Playhouse Square, for one, is the second largest performing arts center in the United States, and the home to one of the hidden gems of the city, graphic design conference Weapons of Mass Creation Fest, produced by Go Media. Weapon of Mass Creation is a three day art and design conference that reflects Cleveland’s grit and passion. Building momentum since 2010, this underground festival is now nationally recognized, drawing over 1,000 attendees from around the globe.

This, year seven, is to be our biggest and boldest year yet. Returning to Playhouse Square, we’ll kick off Friday, August 5th with the first of our nine workshops and our second annual Cleveland Studio Tour sponsored by the Cleveland Department of Economic Development. We’ll end the evening with a dynamic digital art battle sponsored by Corel.

Saturday and Sunday, August 6 & 7, schedules are jam packed with talks, workshops, live podcasts and a vendor village oozing with activity. Talks include design legends Stefan Sagmeister of Sagmeister and Walsh and Mark Brickey of Adventures in Design Podcast. Returning to host a live podcast this year is Debbie Millman of the first and longest running design podcast, Design Matters, among five other top design podcasters. Also hitting the live stage are Lily Rose Lee, who Clevelanders may know formerly as area hero Michelle Knight and Darius Stubbs, poet, playwright, performer, educator and transgender advocate Darius Stubbs .

Weapons of Mass Creation Fest will serve to ignite your potential and show you why Cleveland is the best place to live, work and be inspired to be the best creative you can be.

Tickets can be found on their site. Grab them soon!
