Washington Place Surprise!

As an area blogger, I sometimes am approached to take a look at something new. Whether being offered to attend an art event, do something for charity or a the opportunity to try a new watering hole, but this evening soiree was such a special surprise.

What used to be the old, sophisticated, often forgotten Baricelli Inn on Murray Hill in Little Italy has been transformed into a chic, clean, welcoming bistro and inn.

Welcome Washington Place to the food scene in Cleveland. A personal dream of owner Scott Khun, the restaurant offers something for all. From the yummy cocktail offerings at the stunning new bar to the amazing fresh ingredients used in my beet and goat cheese salad to the fresh seafood and pierogi (from Ohio City Pasta,) Scott and Chef Jonathan Guest really have outdone themselves.

The evening was perfect. The company of other bloggers, local media, a few good friends, amazing food and wine, and superb staff made such an impression on me, I just had to share.

A few things you should know about the soon to be hot spot…

- Wednesdays the Bistro offers for TWO guests, and $40 you can share an app, each have your own entree and enjoy a bottle of wine. A great holiday deal, but book now, spots are already filling up.

- The Inn has a handful of newly remodeled rooms upstairs and the cost is very affordable. If you are looking for an overnight getaway, that includes continental breakfast look no further.

- “Scotty” is really placing working with local businesses high on his to-do list. Partnerships with area food vendors and programs with places such as University Hospitals and the Culinary Vegetable Institute are what adds a level of charm to this new establishment.

If you are looking for a place to try for the holidays. I couldn’t be more pleased and proud to introduce Washington Place.
